Girls Team Success in Singapore!

Published on 12 December 2019

Last weekend saw an All-Girls Tournament in Singapore: a tournament focusing on developing girls rugby in Asia, with sides arriving from Hong Kong, Singapore,  the Philippines, Laos, Indonesia, Vietnam and Cambodia.  A lot of the girls are new to rugby and for some of them it was their first time on a plane.

Valley Fort sent three sides, who had a blast and showed great rugby spirit all round. There was also an awesome effort by VF to raise money to help two sides from Indonesia travel to the event (though the fund raising isn’t finished yet!).  To do this we teamed up with Passitback (https://www.childfundpassitback.org) who use rugby to develop skills throughout Asia.

The girls had an awesome time and played some amazing rugby. The U12s went through the pool matches undefeated before just losing the Cup final to a very strong Tanglin side.

The U10s had two sides, with the U10Bs going through undefeated.

On top of all this, they had lots of fun at the pool, getting manicures and then at the Gala dinner.

Overall: VF rocked, and we can’t wait to do it again next year!
