Please read below for more details on how to sponsor this fantastic fundraising event or contact your Head Coach if you would to be involved!

Valley RFC is raising much needed funds for two important charities. 100% of funds raised will go to the charities.

=========================

On Saturday 27th of June, members of Valley RFC will attempt to scale Mount Everest 2+ times in 12 hours. We will do this by ascending and descending Ladder Street (from Bridges Street to Caine Road – 150 steps), 800-1,400 times between 6am and 6pm in relay teams to achieve this feat.

Aside from achieving some pre-season training for our rugby, hockey and netball players, we are using this challenge as a platform to raise much needed funds for Feeding Hong Kong (feedinghk.org) and Harmony House (harmonyhousehk.org).

Hong Kong has buckled since July 2019, under civil unrest and Covid-19. Food Banks and Domestic Violence Support agencies have witnessed great struggles as they strive to bring food to those in need and shelter to those exposed to abuse at home.

In Hong Kong, 3,600 tonnes of food waste ends up in landfills every day while more than one million people live in poverty. Domestic violence has spiked during lockdown and shelters for women and children are full.

You can help support these organisations(and motivate our runners )by making a pledge to make a donation based on how many times we are able to ascend/descend Ladder Street (from Bridges Street to Caine Road).

Best estimates are that we can complete between 800-1,400 trips up the stairs in 1-2 tandem relays.

Simply select an amount per ascent that you would be willing to donate to Harmony House and Feeding HK and then commit to making the donation post-event via a third-party, certified charity platform at https://www.charitablechoice.org.hk/en/campaigns/vrfc (Valley RFC will not collect funds directly).

You can cap your pledge at a specific value if you wish.

Many thanks for your support.
