Don’t forget to donate!
Valley RFC and Valley Fort RFC, in association with Feeding Hong Kong and the Happy Valley Bar and Grill, are once again operating a Food Drive from 25th – 28th March. This year, with school and job disruptions, health risks and rising food prices brought on by Covid-19, food assistance has never been more vital so please make contributions (especially those that will be at Happy Valley during these dates anyway for training!) .
The main collection point is outside our sponsor bar, Happy Valley Bar and Grill (38 Wong Nai Chung Road).
Specifically we are looking for the following essential items – cooking oil (corn or vegetable) and canned fish, soup, meat, beans and vegetables. (all low sodium and no added sugar please).
We are unable to use rusty or unlabelled cans, perishable items, open/used items or expired items.
Each day, the items will be delivered to the Feeding HK warehouse for distribution to those in need.
Food items can be dropped off at the Bar & Grill at anytime during opening hours, on the run, or – better yet – take a table, have a meal and show some love to the Bar & Grill in these difficult times.
For the trifecta, treat yourself to a nice refreshing pint of Kozel Lager and support our official beer partner.
If we all get behind this initiative, we’ll be making a significant difference to many families around Hong Kong – and that is maybe the least we can do.
About Feeding Kong
Every day, 3,600 tonnes of food waste are sent to landfills in Hong Kong, while more than one million people live in poverty struggling to afford nutritious meals. Feeding Hong Kong collects and distributes (some of) that food to those who need it most. Their work in Hong Kong is immense.
