As this newsletter goes out, the Club has a huge day of competition in front of them. All of our age groups are competing against other clubs in some form of fixture, tournament or festival.

Our Minis have their Christmas Festival hosted by Sandy Bay at Kings Park, the Richard Hawkes (U12 Boys) and Kim Lam (U12 Girls) competitions continue and, of course, all our Youth teams have fixtures. Due to the nature of many competitions, this is the last of the fixtures in the lead up to Christmas but the teams will continue to train hard! Training will then take a break from the 18th December until the 3rd January for Youth and 8th January for Minis.

Several of our players in the U16 and U18 age groups have been competing hard and hoping for selection in the New Years Day teams as well as selections for the National U19 squad. This is an exciting time with so very much going on in the world of junior Rugby here in Hong Kong with many opportunities for our players to be heavily involved.

We have also seen the return of two of our Pro Coaches: Luke Van de Smit (U18 Boys) and Rob Fogerty (U16 Boys) who have returned from representing Hong Kong and the Philippines respectively. These coaches add to our impressive list of pro staff providing the very best of environments for our players to develop and enjoy the game of rugby.

Finally, a reminder that the club will be celebrating the Festive season with the Christmas Party at Deepwater Bay Beach on December 11 from 3:00pm. It’s a celebration for everyone in the family so I hope to see many of you there.

Good luck to Valley Fort this weekend. I know there will be wonderful performances across the age groups, and I look forward to reporting on the results in the final newsletter for 2022.

Yours in Rugby
