Welcome everyone to the 2022/23 season. An additional welcome to all our new players and their families to the Valley Fort community and thank you for choosing our club. I am confident you will enjoy a long and enjoyable association with us in the years ahead.

To all those returning this season I trust you all had an enjoyable break and I know many took the opportunity to finally travel and catch up with family and friends for the first time in a few years. I too enjoyed time back in Australia. Now we are all refreshed and raring to go its exciting that the pre-season is upon us.

There are many new faces in the coaching ranks this season across all age group and I thank all the coaches who have departed for the wonderful service they gave Valley Fort and wish them all the best for their endeavours in the years ahead.

Having lost the use of Happy Valley 6 for the season and Aberdeen Sports Ground the scheduling has been a challenge yet huge thanks to Susan for putting together a schedule that is beneficial to all teams.

The focus this season remains the same for our coaching staff. Skill and game development in a learning and enjoyable environment which is inclusive for all. We will continue to strive to provide progressive developmental coaching sessions that aims to ensure the improvement of all players as the season progresses. Our experienced coaches are looking forward to coaching and challenging themselves as well.

Of course the exciting news is the return of the Hong Kong Sevens in November which will be a great boost for the sport of Rugby here in Hong Kong and will no doubt be a great spectacle and social event.

With fingers crossed we have an uninterrupted season I trust you will embrace all that Valley Fort has to offer and I look forward to meeting many of you as the season unfolds.

Yours in Rugby
