Welcome to the U13 Boys team! All players eligible for this age group should have been born in 2007.
The U13 Boys team is managed and led by parent coach Andy Tam. Rugby coaching and skill development is run by our Valley SocGen RFC professional players, Hugo Stiles and Hunter Prescott. They are both well supported by a core group of parent volunteer coaches. Click on the coaches bio’s below to find out more about Andy, Hugo and Hunter!
The U13 Boys team trains from September 2019 to April 2020 for the 2019/20 season. They predominantly train every Thursday evening and Sunday morning at Happy Valley Recreation Ground #6 unless there is a tournament or it is a key holiday period. You can find the detailed training and tournament schedules below.
I am Australian Chinese and I played my first game of rugby at outside centre for the U14s team at Oakhill College in Sydney, a couple of years before the Wallabies first won the World Cup in 1991. I have been involved in rugby since then. And those who have seen me on the sidelines know how passionate I am about coaching Valley Fort....and I’ve been doing it since my son Ethan was 4 years old! Both Ethan and my daughter Alexis (U10) are now proudly playing for Valley Fort.
We have a great bunch of boys, coaches and a proud parent group. Together, we have had a great deal of fun both in HK and on Tours (Malaysia, Japan, Singapore) and enjoyed great success along the way. This has included winning the Taipan end of season trophies, as well as the Cup & Shield in the U12s Richard Hawkes last season. More than that, the boys absolutely love playing together and reveling in the camaraderie that typifies the great Valley spirit.
So if you want to be a part of this great club playing the “Game they play in Heaven”, please get in contact with us.
