Welcome to the U6 Boys and Girls team! All players eligible for this age group should have been born in 2014.
The U6 team is led by parents Ed Bond and Abi Wright. Abi is principally responsible for the administration and communication side of the team while Ed leads the weekly training sessions and coaches the players. They are also well supported by a core group of parent volunteer coaches. Click on the coach bio’s below to find out more about Ed and Abi!
The U6 team trains from September 2019 to April 2020 for the 2019/20 season. They typically train every Sunday morning at HKIS in Tai Tam unless there is a Minis Rugby Festival or it is a key holiday period. You can find the detailed training and Minis Rugby Festival schedules below but always check the Valley Fort App for the latest updates from your coaches.
Ed and his family are living in HK for the second time having recently spent 4 years in Singapore. He has three children (Holly, Sam and Joe) with Sam playing in U6 and Joe waiting eagerly for his opportunity next year with the U5's. Ed enjoys lots of Super Sunday fun on the pitch with Abi, the other coaches and most importantly the “very energetic” kids!
Abi is the mum of 2 boys (Wilf in U8 and Rufus in U6) and works part-time at Hong Kong University. This is Abi's third year as a part of the Valley Fort family and thoroughly enjoys the sense of community, the opportunity to meet new people, and the chance to get hot and sweaty on the rugby field every Sunday!
