Welcome to the U10 Girls team! All players eligible for this age group should have been born in either 2012 or 2013 for the 2021/22 season.
The U10 Girls team is a combined U9/U10 Girls age group. The U10 Girls team is led by parent Head Coach Martin Tornberg who covers all aspects from coaching to communication and administration. The core rugby coaching and skill development is run by our Societe Generale Valley RFC Pro Coach (name to be announced soon!) who is responsible for core rugby coaching and skills! Click on their bio’s below to find out more about our coaches and how to contact them with any questions about the U10 Girls program!
The U10 Girls team trains from Sunday 5th September 2021 to April 2022 for the 2021/22 season. They train every Sunday morning at Aberdeen Sports Ground (Artificial Turf Pitch), from 11am – 12:30pm, unless there is a Minis Rugby Festival or it is a key holiday period.
If you have any questions at all, please don’t hesitate to email us.
Originally from that rugby “powerhouse” Sweden, I have been in Hong Kong for some 15 years with my wife, and our three children who all play rugby with Valley Fort. When my daughter started at U5 I was keen to pitch in and have helped coach the 2012 girls’ team (aka the Dragonflies!) ever since. I hold a World Rugby Level 1 Coach certificate and a Hong Kong Rugby Union Coacharee certification. Other merits include being a scuba diving instructor and basketball referee and minis coach.
The goals for the U10G’s, given that it is a 2-year age bracket, is for our younger girls to integrate well with the older ones while transitioning to full contact rugby in a safe, fun, and empowering manner - and of course to hold our own against the competition by applying the spirit of Valley Fort in all we do! Hope to see you at our trainings and matches soon!
