Welcome to the U12 Girls team!
The U12 Girls team is a combined U11/U12 Girls age group managed and led by parent Head Coaches, Ben Rudd & Simon Sims, who cover all aspects from coaching to communication and administration. The core rugby coaching and skill development is run by Societe Generale Valley RFC Pro Coach KK! Click on their bio’s below to find out more about the coaching team and how to contact them with any questions about the U12 program!
The U12 Girls team trains from Sunday 3rd September 2023 to April 2023 for the 2023/24 season. They typically train every Sunday morning at Happy Valley Sports Ground from 09:30 – 11:00. There are also Friday Night Skills sessions offered at South Island School and all are encouraged to attend. These begin early October.
All regular trainings follow this Friday / Sunday format unless the Kim Lam Cup tournament is on (the competition girls play in at U12), joint training with other clubs has been arranged or it is a key holiday period.
Ben joined Valley Fort as a coach when his daughter Maya started playing in the U6's. He has lived in HK for over 20 years and played rugby in his younger days in South Africa and the UK. He loves to support and see the next generation of rugby players grow and develop at Valley Fort. Ben is a World Rugby Level 1 referee.
Having been involved with Valley for many years (player and now coach), what strikes me with the club is the spirit, ethos and the fun everyone who joins has. Now coaching the U10 girls, we have seen tremendous development over the last few seasons and look forward to the girls growing further and honing their rugby skills.
Rugby means much to me, not just as a sport but, it is where I train and enjoy great times with friends and family! I always get support from my rugby family and hope to pay it forward to the girls I coach. Rugby can help change your life for the positive!
I also work with Valley Foundation and player-manage the Valley Senior's Women's team.
