Welcome to the U13/14 Boys team! All players eligible for this age group should have been born in 2009 for the 2022/23 season.
The U13/14 Boys team is managed and led by parent team manager, Nick Ritter, who cover all aspects from coaching support to communication and administration. The core rugby coaching and skill development is run by our Societe Generale Valley RFC Pro Coaches, Henry Shiell & Riva Brill! The U13/14 Boys team trainings start on the 3rd September 2023 to April 2024 for the 2023/24 season. They train on Tuesday and Thursday evenings (18:30 – 19:45) as well as Sunday mornings (09:30 – 11:00) unless there is a match or it is a key holiday period.

From the UK, Nick is the father of two boys, Oliver and Max, who have been with the club for the past 6 years. Nicked helped coach the U7’s, U8’s, stepping up in a head coach role with the U9's, U10’s and U11’s. Passionate about sport broadly Nick’s love for the club is built around the life friendships and community that Valley Fort affords. So much so Nick is also Head of Off Field on the Valley Fort Executive Committee. Nick runs the macro trading for a macro hedge fund and outside of sport and family has a love for general aviation.
Henry is from Brighton in England and is coming into his second year at both Valley RFC and Valley Fort RFC. After a stint in Australia playing rugby and a few years back in the UK, Henry moved over to Hong Kong to play. He worked with the contact minis last year and is back again this year taking on a new role as Pro Coach Lead for the Non-Contact Minis as well as coaching the combined U13/U14 Boys squad. He is very excited to be working again with Valley Fort this season and is looking forward to contributing as much as possible in all his roles with the club this season. Henry is on track to be World Rugby Level 2 Qualified by this autumn.
Riva is a Hong Kong Native and is coming into playing her 8th season for Valley FRC and her second season for Valley Fort.
She started playing rugby at the age of 16 and has since played for the Valley Prems for 6 years and has gotten 3 Caps for Hong Kong in the 15s team.
With a degree in Sports Coaching, she is very excited to be working with the U13/U14s Boys with the experience of coaching Hong Kong's National Age Grade Programme and with a passion of giving back to the wider Valley Fort Community.
