Welcome to the U19 Boys team! All players eligible for this age group should have been born in 2002 – 2004 for the 2020/21 season.
The U19 Boys team is coached by our Societe Generale Valley RFC Pro’s Mitch Purvis and Sion Bennett. The team management and communications are led by by parent George Von Burg. The U19 Boys team trains from September 2020 to April 2020 for the 2020/21 season. They predominantly train every Tuesday evening and Sunday morning at Happy Valley Recreation Ground #6 unless there is a match / tournament or it is a key holiday period. There is also some ad hoc Thursday training and challenges to take part in. Sion is originally from New Zealand. He has played for the Wales Sevens team, Cardiff Blues, Northampton Saints and the Llaneli Scarlets prior to joining Societe Generale Valley RFC as Loose Forward. Sion has his World Rugby Level 1 coaching qualifications and is now working towards Level 2. He also has his Level 3 personal training qualifications.
Long retired enthusiastic rugby player, involved in coaching Valley Fort teams for over 10 years since my eldest son joined in the U6s and then became head coach for 4 seasons. Have also been involved with refereeing throughout the minis contact age groups and now honored to be the manager of our fantastic U19 squad.
The Valley Fort family has been a pleasure to be a part of both with our achievements on the pitch and our ethos of fair and inclusive play.
