I was born and raised in Glasgow, now married to Elizabeth with two boys, Callum and Angus. I have been part of Valley Fort Mini Rugby since 2020, when my eldest son Callum started in U6’s. My youngest, Angus, started in the U5's section. My wife, Elizabeth, contributes off the field as the Chairman of Valley Fort.
Growing up in Scotland, I played a lot of rugby not to mention watching the likes of Scottish rugby legend Gavin Hastings and Doddie Weir playing at Murray field. I’ve lived in Hong Kong for 16yrs and my favourite part of the city remains the people, community and convenience!
As a parent Head Coach, my goal is to create a positive learning environment for the kids to discover more about Rugby, meet some new friends, burn off some energy (more for the parents) and most importantly have a lot of fun. Go Valley Fort!!!
Originally from the UK, I have been part of Valley Fort since 2015, shortly after I arrived in Hong Kong. I have three children, Felix, Eila and Otto, all of whom have thrived within the Valley Fort experience!
I have coached across age groups, both boys and girls and last season, I was the parent head coach of the combined U13s and U14s boys team.
We consider Hong Kong our home and the Valley Fort family are an important part of our collective family experience and education here in Hong Kong. Team sports have always been important to me, both on and off the pitch. I grew up in a traditional rugby-playing boarding school in North Yorkshire and team sports continued to play an important part in daily life in my near decade serving in the British Army. Rugby has taught me the values of teamwork, camaraderie, sportsmanship and leadership; coupled with much fun, we continue to focus on these in the upcoming season. GO VALLEY FORT!
